Temple Traveling: A Photographic journey to Somnathpur Keshava Temple

Keshava Temple of Somnathpur was built by Somanatha, a general of Hoysala Narasimha III funded by the king. It was completed in 1269. Somnathpur is just 36 kms from Mysore. To know more about Hoysala temples you can check my ‘A Nostalgic trip to Hoysala Temples’ post. This is a slideshow of Photographs taken by me. Try to watch it in HD.

  3. Lovely – we travels to far away places for seeing Architectural Marvels – never knew that there was such a beautiful temple close to Mysore – In India we are such poor marketeers of rich Indian Art – a temple like this in US would have been so famous. Now thats on my to do list in the next long weekend

    • Well said!! We always find beauty in distant things and places. We Never recognise the real beauty in the places nearby us. India is richest in terms of heritage. But we don’t market it and we don’t maintain it. We have to bring all the international standards in terms of cleanliness and littering issues in tourist places is also one big concern for all of us. But the temples which are under A.S.I are in good shape. ASI is taking good care of them. Hope you will visit all the Architectural wonders. You can also find more posts in my blog which might interest you to plan a trip. THank you for those amazing comments.. Take care! 🙂
