Glimpses of 2013

2 0 1 3…. It is becoming difficult for me to remember when it has started and when it ended.. At the hour of closure when I sit back and re-collect the best moments of it, then I realized the reason why I was still not able to feel the end of 2013.. I have then decided to share few of the events and give a glimpse of the happiest things happened to me….

April- It’s the month in which my “Mission China” was accomplished… Rohith Reddy to Dr. Rohith Reddy…. Was both happy and bit emotional  in Changchun( emotional because of the fear of ever returning back )

Finally Graduated

As the moments passed, I’m missing all my best Chinese mates(Mike, Wangmei ling, Yingying,Liao dengping, yuan,EMily jiang,ann..etc) who made me feel the place like home for the entire 5 years. I still had a regret that i didnt met Mike and his girlfriend. Guys you played an important part in my life. & I will never forget you people.

Our last tour to Xi’an, chengdu, EMeishan, LEshan, and Chongqing started on 20th April with Swetha, Goutham, Piyush and Teena. I was afraid in the beginning because I was not that close to them. But once the trip started I was pretty comfortable with them.I don’t know how they felt 😛  Chongqing gave me a new different experience.A dangerous incident has happened to us i.e a huge broken glass has just fallen from a height just beside us. Thank god it didn’t hit us!! Because of our fate and luck we are alive now. Every day was beautiful in that tour..I bagged very good memories.. I can only say that memories I’ve made will never be erased, and the friends I’ve made will never be replaced.Thank you guys.

Tips to stay healthy during the Winter season

It is quite possible to make winter a wonderful time, filled with fun and joy, just by following certain tips of winter health care. Given below are some of the most common winter health care tips that are recommended by several health experts:

1.Drink a lot of water: Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water in the day, which will flush out the toxins from your body and will reduce the possibility of an illness. This will also keep your body hydrated and will moisturize your skin naturally.water

2.Wash your hands regularly: Keep the bacteria and viruses off your hands and out of your mouth and eyes. Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer close-by for those  instances where you can’t get to soap and water.

3.Stress: Studies have linked high stress levels making a person more susceptible to catching colds and flu. So keep your stress to minimum. Aim for at least one night per week to spend with friends and family.

4.Exercise: It is important to exercise regularly, even if only for 15 minutes a day! Get out and take a short walk and enjoy the cooler weather.images

5.Sleep: The average person needs 6-8 hours of sleep per night. If you’re not getting enough sleep, your body is extremely vulnerable to illness. Sleep is very much like fuel that recharges your batteries! So try to get proper sleep

6.Healthy diet: Maintaining a good healthy diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables and minimal amounts of organic meats is another way to keep your body clean and in good working order. Try to take more Zinc containing foods and dont forget to avoid sugars.

7.Smoking: Most of you already know this, but it bears repeating because smoking significantly weakens your immune system.Dont smoke

8.Stay warm: cold temperatures can cause serious health problems, especially in infants and older adults. Stay dry, and dress warmly in several layers of loose-fitting, tightly woven clothing.

9.Skin care : Always keep your skin moistured, Apply a good moisturizer on your skin, at least 2-3 times a day. It is best to use economical products like petroleum jelly or mineral oil on the skin. For best results they should be applied on the skin, immediately after a bath, when the skin is still damp.

10.when you are ill try to take more VitaminC intake, Because it boosts immune system by modulating the activity of phagocytes, production of cytokines & lymphocytes, and number of cell adhesion molecules in monocytes.image (1)

11.Fresh air: Let the fresh air enter into your house, and take the kids for a walk outside to help clear the nasal passages and reduce stress.

Badavi Linga temple & LakshmiNarasimha temple, Hampi

Badavi Linga temple:

This is the largest monolithic Linga in Hampi. Located next to the Narasimha statue. The shiva linga has a fairly large circular pedestal(yone pitha), Drawing into a pranala(outlet). The central median line(somasutra)  has the 3 eye mark, drawn in line carving.

The sanctum in which the Linga is installed is always filled with water as a water channel is made to flow through it. Legend has it that this was commissioned by a peasant woman and hence the name (Badva means poor in local tongue).

The sanctum chamber that houses Linga, is a large stone, brick mortar structure.

According to Hindu mythology the River Ganga (Ganges) was brought from heaven to earth to quench the drought. But the river was so forceful that it could split the earth into two pieces if allowed to fall on earth. Lord Shiva consented to take the impact by allowing the torrent of Ganga to fall on his matted hair. Thus helping to release a smooth flowing river on to earth from his hair.

Lakshmi narasimha temple:

This huge monolith, is about 6.7m high. It is a four-armed seated figure of Narasimha ,but all arms are broken now. A large 7 hooded naga curls above its head. The heads of the snake acts as the hood above his head. The god sits in a cross-legged Yoga position with a belt supporting the knees.Badavi linga temple, Hampi Karnataka

Narasimha (means half-man’half-lion) is on of the ten incarnations (avatar) of Lord Vishnu. Sometimes this is referred as Ugra Narasimha (terrifying form of Narasimha). The protruding eyes and the facial expression are the basis for this name.Badavi linga temple, Hampi Karnataka

Originally there was a figure of goddess Lakshmi,  on his left thigh. But this statue has been damaged seriously during the raid leading to the fall of Vijayanagar. But we can see the remnant of Lakshmi’s arm that was originally  placed around Narasimha’s waist, is still intact.  The ravages of time had left the statue badly mutilated.

Inspiring story

An Inspiring story!

I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality… I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with god
“God”, I asked,
“Can you give me one good reason not to quit?”.
His answer surprised me…
“Look around”, He said. “Do you see the fern and the bamboo ?
“Yes”, I replied.
“When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I gave them light.I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.
“In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit.” He said.
“Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant…But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.”
He asked me. “Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots”.
“I would not quit on the bamboo.I will never quit on you.”
“Don’t compare yourself to others.” He said.”The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful.””Your time will come”, God said to me.
“You will rise high”.
“How high should I rise?” I asked.
“How high will the bamboo rise?” He asked in return.
“As high as it can?” I questioned.”Yes.” He said, “Give Me glory by rising as high as you can.”

I left the forest and brought back this story.I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on
you.Never, Never, Never, Give up.

Don’t tell the GOD how big the problem is, tell the problem how Great the GOD is!

Longest Traffic Jam In The World

The China National Highway 110 traffic jam was a massive traffic jam that began to form on August 14, 2010, mostly on China National Highway 110 and Beijing–Tibet expressway , in Beijing, Hebei and Inner Mongolia.

The traffic jam slowed down thousands of vehicles for more than 100 kilometres (60 mi) and lasted for more than ten days. Many drivers were able to move their vehicles only 1 km (0.6 mi) per day, and some drivers reported being stuck in the traffic jam for five days.

The cause of this traffic jam was not only the huge number of cars in china but also because most of the highway was occupied by heavy trucks. The hassle gave birth the the mini economy with local merchants who started selling water, instant noodles &cigarettes  to the drivers. A bottle of water normally cost 1yuan, but on the highway it was sold for 10 yuan.

Drivers also complained that the price of instant noodles had more than tripled. Some vendors created mobile stores on bicycles. Some drivers passed their time by playing cards while other were the victims of theft and extortion.
